Milestones in Jira Gantt

Does anybody know if it is better to create a Milestone in JIRA using an extra Issue Type or just putting estimated Time in 0 ....?for Gantt Chart Plugin

Create a separate issue and set Gantt-option "milestone": doing this, you can link multiple issues to this milestone e.g. using "finsh-start" dependency link type. If you shift one or more of this issues without having any buffer later, then the milestone becomes "red" indicating any breaching.
