Mismatch in issues count while starting a new sprint

Hi,
In my sprint I have 179 open issues (based on a search). When I want to start the sprint, Jira tells me that 179 issues will be included, which matches with what I expect.
However, this does not match with the number of issues (123) displayed next to the sprint number, and I have a warning message saying that the count (179) includes some issues currently hidden.
I do not have quick filters or instant filters, so what are these hidden issues?
