Missing jira-administrators group

Jonathan White March 12, 2018

I am unable to find any Jira administrators group in my Jira cloud setup. Perhaps it was deleted in the past. Is there a way to re-instate it? If so, does anyone have the steps? I am a site-admin myself and when I look at the available groups I see neither "Jira-administrators" or "administrators".

I am trying to enable slack integration with Jira which requires me to belong to the administrators and Jira-administrators groups, because the slack integration is not working due to an error. And it appears to be related to the admin group issue mentioned.

You don't need a jira administrators group specifically with that name, but you do need one or more groups to be administrators.  It makes sense to have groups clearly named for this, so I'd usually re-add "jira administrators" for use here if I found a system without one.

Go to Admin -> Global permissions, and look at the groups named for administrative access.  You can add/remove the groups in here.
