×Hi everyone!!!
Since the new Jira Cloud interface was rolled out, we noticed an important change regarding inactive/suspended users.
In the previous UI, if a work item was assigned to an inactive user, their name appeared greyed out, which immediately helped everyone identify that the task was assigned to someone who could no longer take action.
In the new UI, however, inactive users look exactly the same as active ones. There is no visual distinction in the issue view, making it impossible for users to quickly recognize that the assignee is inactive.
This creates potential problems in daily work, extra administrative overhead to manually check user status, and reduced transparency for all Jira users when managing workloads and responsibilities.
Is there any hidden configuration to bring back this differentiation?
If not, could Atlassian please consider restoring a visual indicator for inactive users as part of the new UI? Any work item already opened?
Thanks in advance for your feedback!!
I can't recall this as well.
If a user is set inactive (license removed) in Cloud the user is not able to be selected as assignee, as the user has no license.
Or I didn't notice this ever, as I think we are referring to already assigned issues and then a user was stripped of access.
As @Dan Breyen mentioned, you can create a case, or log this at Atlassian Support, as it might be a bug
Exactly @Marc - Devoteam , I'm talking about already assigned work items. You see them the same way you see active users assigned, and that´s the difference. The previous interface showed them differently, and made it clear for everyone.
I'll try creating a case. Thanks for your response!

Hi @Any Russenberger I'm not aware of any hidden configuration in the base product to change this behavior. I took a look at Atlassian's Jira Site and didn't see this reported as an Work Item.
You can create a new Work Item there if you'd like. I would suggest giving some examples of what's going on and how you'd like it to work.
You could also post back the Work Item number here, so if people are interested they can vote on it and watch it for updates.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, I didn't find anything either! I will register the work item then.
Thanks for your response!
