Monitoring Jira

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to monitor Jira DC. I've found some tutorials, but they include the Prometheus Exporter, which is a paid app.

Is there any way to do it without that app?

Thanks a lot.

@Bastian Stehmann ,

It depends what you are monitoring. If you are monitoring logs and if you have splunk, you can forward logs.

If you are monitoring the system stats, you can just use an open source monitoring system.

If you are on AWS or Azure, you can use the built-in monitoring tools.

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks a lot. Looking especially for an application monitoring, so data from within Jira.

Hi @Bastian Stehmann ,

You may want to ingest the DB into ELK or something open source alike. However, you need to model and build your monitoring dashboards on what you are looking for in the data. It may better to pay if you there's something out there that already has put in the effort in doing this. If you are looking for something that is not out there, then would suggest building data models and pulling the data into which ever visualization tool you would like.
