Move Single JIRA Issues from Server to Cloud

Bruce Parr March 10, 2022

Hey folks,

We have a situation where my employer is running a Jira Server instance, and a sister company is running a Jira Cloud instance. We want to be able to create issues on our server instance and once vetted, move them to a project on the Cloud instance. Is this doable through automation? Perhaps a webhook with a manual trigger? Something else? I really don't want to have to create a bridge between the two myself, and I don't want to use a ton of time doing this as we are moving to the cloud version within this year.

I greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Regards,

Bruce

You can undoubtedly automate this, but you'd need to spend some time implementing that, and I wound't advise you to do that—especially if you're moving to Atlassian Cloud later anyways. You can either export your issues using CSV and import them on the cloud or use an app to handle that for you, which is much better.
