Move issues from Jira Software project to a JSM type project.

shazna.azher February 14, 2024

Hi, I am trying to move issues from the Jira Software project to a JSM-type project.  I need to know what can be impacted. Can the reports of the projects also be moved? Also, can the issue components also be impacted?

How about the SLA report?

In summary, I am keen to learn about the overall impacts and any best practices that I can follow to make the bulk move a smooth one.

Your replies are appreciated.

Regards,

Shazna

Hi Shazna,

No, the reports themselves won't be moved, but you should be able generate new reports on the JSM project.

You will need to create the same Components in the JSM project that you are using in the JSW project BEFORE you move the data.

How are you getting an SLA report in a JSW project? Are you using an add-on? If so, check with the vendor.

Check your workflows between the projects as well, and have a plan/idea of issues that are in a status in the JSW workflow that are not in the JSM workflow and to which status they will need to move to in the JSM project.

Check Assignees in the JSW project to see if they are an Agent (and in the Service Desk Team project role) in the JSM project.
