Move issues from Support to my admin user

Manuel Kübler October 27, 2020

I am currently migrating JIRA Server to JIRA Cloud. I have several users "Support", "Development" and "Accounting" on JIRA Server. I now want to move all assigned tickets from Support to my admin user "Manuel Kübler". How can I do that?

I currently see all projects with the admin user, but no issues

Hello @Manuel Kübler,

Thank you for reaching out.

Per your description, I understand that you would like to bulk assign all the issues from the user "Support" to your user "Manuel Kübler".

Can you please confirm if you have already migrated your Jira Server to Cloud or you are looking to do this bulk assign before the migration?

Basically, you can bulk assignee the issues from a specific user to another by using the bulk operation functionality. These would be the KBs to do that, considering if you are planning to do this on Cloud or Server:

Edit multiple issues at the same time - Jira Cloud

Editing multiple issues at the same time - Jira Server

Basically, the steps to do the bulk would be the following:

  1. Navigate to your issue navigator page > Create a JQL query to return all the issues assigned to "Support":
    assignee = "support"
  2. Click on the top button of the page (Tools or "...") > Click to Bulk change issues:

  3. Follow the client to properly assign the issues you yourself

Let us know if you have any questions.

I worked in JIRA Server with permissions. Before exporting from JIRA Server, I changed the project permissions for the projects to "Default Permission Scheme".
