We are planning to move to Jira 7.x from our currently running JIRA 6.x. We want to build Jira 7.x from scratch then will just import the xml data from jira 6.x. How we're going to move the license to jira 7.x?

I think, it is enough to add the license to the new server and just remove the license from your old server (or replace it with a developer license).
But maybe someone can confirm that I am remembering correctly.
