Moving JIRA instance to another server

Hi,

I'm moving my jira version 6.3.15(EOL reached) from one server to another and changing it from sql server to my sql

and installing plugin to implement sso

Apart from this change there would be no other , all addons' etc everything would be same.

my only question is ,will this affect ticket creation via email functionality or it would be taken care automatically. i able to send test emails of jirafrom my new server.

Hi Neeta,

I don't think it will affect the ticket creation via email and will be taken care automatically.  The domain still resolves to your new server (DNS takes care of this). You will need to make sure that new server where your JIRA is hosting should have access to retrieve emails from POP mail server. Since you were able to send emails from JIRA on new server successfully, then your SMTP server working as expected.
