Moving items between kanban boards from different projects

Wondering if there is a way to move card from one kanban board to a different kanban board and project? We have several different departments and their work is kept in their own projects. Wondering if possible to move one item across boards and projects without cloning the item and having 2 of the same item floating around.

No, but sort of.   A board is not a container of issues, it selects a set of them.  There is no "move between boards" because they do not contain the issues.

What you need to do is adjust the boards filters so they only show the issues you want on each board.  If you do it carefully, you can make it so a card appears to move because it stops being selected by one board and starts to be selected by another.
