Atlassian Community -

I am working to ensure I follow a best practice when moving from JIRA local authentication to using Active Directory with local groups.

Here is my current setup:

  • JIRA with local authentication and has application links to the following:
    • Application link to Bitbucket using OAuth (JIRA credentials to sign into Bitbucket)
    • Application link to Crucible using OAuth (impersonation) - uses JIRA credentials
    • Application link to another bitbucket using OAuth but that instance is connected to AD
    • Application link to Confluence using OAuth that is connected to AD

Bitbucket/Crucible is setup using JIRA User Directory (Atlassian Crowd)

My question is - after I migrate all users from JIRA Internal to Delegated LDAP, how will the application links work? Will I need to change the application links to ensure users are able to sign into the first Bitbucket and Crucible instance after I migrate the users? I have the user directories setup to go through JIRA user directory. I didnt know how this will change when the users are migrated.

The goal is to continue using JIRA's local groups for the first Bitbucket and Crucible instances as lots of permissions are setup that way.

I am using all server instances (not data center) and do not have a crowd instance.
