Multiple teams using Scrum and Kanban - Need to link Boards

ian_f September 2, 2020

We have teams that work on Software and Firmware. Those teams are split in to Projects and Components.

When a target project is created it involves lets say 4 teams. 2 Firmware, 1 Software and 1 Application Software. Some work Kanban and some work Scrum, all of them have their own boards and manage their schedules. Scrum teams work on a 2 week sprint basis

When we create the target project we raise the epics and stories related to the feature requirements. These are then planned in to the development work according to priority and effort estimation

However, an Epic can require work form 2, 3 or all 4 teams. The requirements between the components are identified by the prefix relevant to that team when numbering the issue and the issue is linked to the Epic.

But I cannot see one board that shows me the different sprints, due dates (Kanban board) for the entire work.

I cannot see what has been completed or not in one board to see the impact upon the whole project

Is there a way to create such a board or view?

Create a Kanban board the encompasses all the issues in the project.

If you create a Scrum board that encompasses all the issues, it won't show the Kanban issues because they are not in active sprints.

A Kanban board will show all the cards regardless of whether or not they are in a sprint. I

If you want to be able to see cards in a specific sprint or with a specific due date, you'll have to add those as Quick Filter options.
