My Jira server is not showing any items in the dashboards

Kyle Manel December 15, 2019

My Jira server is not displaying items in it's dashboards.

I just changed the host server, and upgraded to 8.5.1, but the server is unable to display items in the action board, which may be indicative of its ability to establish connections to itself.

Hello Kyle,

Sorry to hear you are facing this problem.

Please, provide us with the details below so we can further troubleshoot your issue and confirm we are on the same page:

1 - Is the dashboard not displaying for all the users or is anyone able to properly access Jira?

2 - Are there any other dashboards or pages reproducing the same problem?

3 - Are there any errors returned in the development console of your browser or in the Atlassian.logs?

4 -  Provide us with a screenshot of how your dashboard is appearing to you

Without the information above, I can only think that a connection or database communication failure might be causing the dashboard to don't load, so I suggest you take a look at the articles below and check if it solves your problem:

This issue was resolvable by delivering the server via the .bin installation and feeding it environment with -varfile response.varfile

Understandably there was some frustration with regards to how poorly the response.varfile method is documented; Which variables can be used for which purposes, but that is orchestral, and was relatively minor in this case, once the appropriate environment was fed into the installer, and used by the bin installer the server began operating as expected, and I now have it in production.

With regards to this issue, I expect that there was some problem with the environment passed using the file above, but a bit of verification and re-evaluation resolved the issue, thank-you.
