I need some advice on how to better use Jira Cloud to allow customers to view subsets of the the issues in Jira, and for the teams doing to work to take advantage of features like the Fix/Version Report.
We currently allow customers to access issues within a project that is specific to that customer. Our teams work on issues from many different projects. That makes the Fix/Version report useless, which is a great tool.
Does anyone have advice on the proper way to get all we can out of Jira for our internal teams, while also allowing visibility of certain issues for each of our customers. (Keeping in mind that customer 1 should not have permission to see customer 2's Jira issues).
Thank you!
Hello @Philip Culver
If you are working with Company Managed projects you can use Issue Level Security to define an Issue Security Scheme with Levels detailing groups of people who are allowed to see an issue. Then in each issue you set the Issue Security Level.
All the levels would need to include your internal users groups/roles to enable them to see all issues. Otherwise you would have a level for each customer organization.
Using Issue Level Security you could have all the issues in one project, enabling you to leverage Fix/Version reports, while making sure customers can see only their own issues.
Do you ever need multiple customers to be able to see the same issue?
Take a look at the documentation and let us know if you have questions.
