Need advice on Recommended practice to create test and prod environment

Hi,

I need Atlassian recommendations on how to maintain the Test and PROD environment in the Premium JIRA cloud license that we are going to put in few days.

In the DC JIRA environment, we used to maintain two different scalable instances on AWS cloud for test and PROD environment.

How do we maintain Test and PROD environment in JIRA cloud in both cases

- When we are in migration a phase from DC to JIRA Cloud

- When we are fully operating on the JIRA cloud after migration

With the premium subscription, you can create 1 sandbox instance per premium product. 

You can create sandbox with prod data copy but cannot move the data from sandbox to prod natively.

Do remember that not everything gets copied from prod to sandbox. Refer -> https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/what-data-is-copied-to-sandboxes/

With these information, you can make your sandbox strategies for your use cases. 

For migration, i would say, refresh your prod configurations to sandbox and then import data into sandbox to replicate the possible migration conflicts.

As a standard sandbox, you can use the environment to validate new plugins, hierarchy configurations , settings etc.
