Hi @Sreenivas Kunde ,

We would probably need some additional information related to the errors you're seeing.

Also, if you're migrating from server to cloud with the help of a Partner, I'd recommend reaching out to them.

Lastly, you can reach out to Atlassian Support directly and raise Migration Support ticket and they can probably assist you in troubleshooting. I would say this is a recommended course of action.

@Sreenivas Kunde , hi. hope you've resolved you issue by now.  When you migrate from Jira Server to Jira Cloud, errors usually fall into a few common buckets. The first step is always to look at the error log in the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant — that will tell you what specifically failed. From there: 1. Users: Check that every user has a valid, unique email address. Duplicates or missing emails are one of the most common blockers. 2.Configurations: Projects that rely on shared boards, workflows, or schemes that aren’t included in the migration will throw errors. Either include those dependencies or clean them up first. 3. Apps: If you had apps on Server, make sure the Cloud version is installed and configured. Some apps need a separate migration path or a manual export/import. 4. Attachments: Jira Cloud enforces stricter limits. Oversized files or strange characters in filenames can stop the migration. 5. Testing: Run a pilot with one project, fix issues there, then scale up.

If you keep hitting walls with the migration assistant, there are also third-party tools — for example, ZigiOps (you can fin it at the Atlassian marketplace)— that can handle migrations without storing your data, preserve everything (no loss of history or relationships), and don’t impose size limits on what can be transferred. That can be worth considering if your migration is complex or the built-in tool just won’t cooperate. Feel free to drop us a line, if you need help with further data migrations.

Hi @Sreenivas Kunde

Migrating from Jira Server to Cloud can sometimes throw errors, often due to differences in workflows, custom fields, or user mapping between environments. A few things to check:

  • App and field compatibility
  • Custom workflow or issue type mismatches
  • User mapping across environments
  • Permission and scheme differences
  • Detailed logs from the Cloud Migration Assistant

To help you better, could you share what kind of errors you're seeing, any specific messages or patterns? That’ll make it easier to pinpoint the issue.

If the migration involves complex setups or requires full traceability, you may also want to explore OpsHub Migration Manager, an Atlassian Partner. It handles Server-to-Cloud migrations with zero downtime and no disruption, while supporting user mapping, automation, and data fidelity at scale.

Drop us a line if have any questions or want to request a demo.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community @Sreenivas Kunde !

As @Tomislav Tobijas  mentioned we will need more details to better understand the problem you are facing.

My very first question will be what steps are you following? Migrating from server to cloud is not a straight forward process.

It is not about migrating Data, there are so many requirements before you start the migration.

Best,

Fadoua
