Need to bulk reset resolution for a number of issues in our Jira Service Desk?

Krister Persson March 9, 2021

Howto do that? Whole bulk editing cannot find the alternative to reset resolution (Resolution = unresolved or resolution = Empty

We have Adaptivist Script Runner AddOn.

The check we've done:
project = <projectName> AND statusCategory not in (Done) AND resolution is not empty order by resolution, status result in 13 issues with a wrongly set resolution.
We also have a workflow when an issue can be "reopened", in that case a posto function clear the resolution.

One work around is to add a step on any status that do just that for an number o issues, in every status, but that seems very odd to be forced to do just that.

Without scriptrunner, you can do a bulk edit, if you temporarily add the resolution to the issue edit screens.  But this will not allow you to blank our resolutions for the issues that are not done, it is only changing from one resolution to another.

With Scriptrunner, have a look for the built-in/canned script "fix resolutions" - this can selectively fix all of your resolutions.

Or you could write a script to blank them out for yourself

the reason for us having these wrongly issues with r´wrongly set resolutions are that the field has resided on a number of screens, but the very last resolve screen. That is corrected now.
