Hello, I am working on a project with maybe 20-25 teams, and previously we have tracked which team has requested work by using a custom label field. This has caused problems, as the labels aren't standardized and some users spell things wrong, hyphenate, etc...
I want to convert this field to a multi-select field, but then our report generation for historical issues will be disrupted or we will need to have two reports, which isn't ideal.
Is there any way to update or change the label field so that we can standardize the team names that have requested work while still ensuring that historical data can be used for reporting purposes? Out of the box plugins or an idea for a custom solution would be welcome.

If I understand your use case correctly, you are looking for a way to visualise capacity of teams and resources in order to allocate resources to issues. Currently, you're using a custom field type labels and JQL filters for reporting, correct?
Are your teams working with scrum boards or kanban boards?
What are you trying to accomplish?
