Dear Atlassian Team,
in our Jira instance, we make use of heavily customized issue layouts, making use of many custom fields, logically grouped into tabs.
The new Jira issue view has effectively destroyed the product of years-long development of optimal layouts. To wit: the logic used in grouping fields into 'primary' and 'secondary' does not match our organization's logic, and it obviously cannot account for custom fields.
Rather than going into yet another rant of how inconvenient the new issue view actually is, I will instead ask a very specific question: is there, or will there be, any way to migrate issue layouts, as they were, into the new issue view globally (ie: once for all, by a site admin)?
If we had a way to effect such a migration only once, for all users and all projects, we would definitely have a chance to leverage our expertise into the new issue view.
Please be aware that migrating to a Server instance is not an option for us.
I hope to read your reaction soon.
Best,
Gianfranco
