Dear Community,
I am new to Jira and I would like to setup a company using Jira. I am looking forward to best practice experience using epic, components and story.
For example the goal is to complete a first step creating the company. This first step includes creating the following parts (simplified short description)
How would you define epic, components and story based on my simplified exmaple based on your experience and best pratice?
Very thankful for your feedback.
Regards
Hi @justwow - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I would just say to follow standard Agile practices and definitions. An Epic is a large piece of work that is made up of multiple stories, where the stories represent individual, deployable code for the most part. Components can be used to group or categorize you work - like Website, Content, Communications, etc. Or Front End, Back End, Database, iOS, etc.
Thanks John for your answer...
So in this Case...
Setting up the company to Version 1 = Epic
Marketing, Sales, HR, IT = Stories
Website, Content, CI/CD = Components
Is that correct?
Thanks in advance
