Newly created version is not appearing in "Release" field of Issue

Yes, while editing the issue, I don't see the release in the drop down and so I am not able to change the release.

Ok, so a couple of deeper questions:

  • What exactly is the "Release" field?  Is it your name for "fix version", or do you have a custom version-picker field with that name (as well as affects and fix version) or is it being provided by an App?
  • Are you sure you are adding the version to the same project?

OK, that gave me a clue, it is my custom field and that solves my problem. I need to add the new strings in my custom field too. Thank you so  much!

They won't be added automatically, you have to edit the issues to select the new version.

Or am I misunderstanding the question?
