No access to (some) user-installed apps

We use the free jira version with team-managed projects. In the last weeks, we also tested a few apps from the marketplace.

Now we are running into a problem: We installed an app (in the example below "Workflow Magic Box"), which is also shown in Settings -> Apps:

However, the app is not shown in the left side bar although the marketplace clearly shows that the app is installed.

Is there any chance to add the app the side bar?

(Even more) interestingly: The apps were all installed by myself. My colleagues, though, only see one of the installed apps (Deep Clone) and do not see "Issue Template Agent".

Hello @Michael Blumenschein ,

There may be a thing that the app doesn't fully support or integrate the sidebar. Some apps only appear in company-managed projects or within specific issue views rather than the project navigation.

Also, your colleagues may not see certain apps due to permission restrictions or user-based visibility. If I were you, I would check the app’s Marketplace listing for project compatibility and try accessing it through an issue view or by switching to a company-managed project.

Dear @Daria Kulikova_GitProtect_io,

Thank you very much for your fast reply and suggestions. Appearently there was a permission missing for some of the apps. However, it was hard to find the place where to grand this permission. In case somebody else has the same problem, you need to navigate to

Settings -> System Settings (NOT App-Settings) -> Security -> Global Permissions

Thank you very much!

Hi, @Michael Blumenschein

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Based on the plugin name, I assumed it adds functionality to workflows. I checked the documentation on the Marketplace page, and this assumption was confirmed.

Plugins like this don't usually appear in the sidebar because they aren't configurable through the UI. Instead, their functions can be used within workflow elements such as post-functions, conditions, or validators.

Some info from marketplace page:

Dear @Evgenii

Thanks very much. I was assuming that all apps would be shown in the side bar. Thanks for clarification.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community @Michael Blumenschein !

I agree with @Daria Kulikova_GitProtect_io please read carefully the Marketplace App documentation to make sure you didn't miss any configuration/feature required/available with the App.

Best of luck!

Fadoua
