In Jira Software I have one single user who, when they try to "@" another user in the comments for a story, does not see a list of other users pop up as they start typing in a name after the @ symbol. Literally one single user. I've logged in as other users with the exact same permissions as her (as well as a few others with different permissions just to see what happens) and a list of other users pops up with every single one of them. I'm stumped, any ideas why this would occur with only one user? Thanks!
Hi @GregPearson
There is a Global Permission called Browse users and groups may be the user is not part of a group(s) assigned this permission.
Ravi
She is in one of the groups, she logged out and logged back in using a new browser session and that seemed to resolve it. Thanks for the suggestion!
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
if you log in as that user can you reproduce it?

Thanks for the suggestion, I am able to reproduce it if I log in as the user. I logged in as a few other people with the same and different permissions as well and can't reproduce it for any other user I tried.

i have to think this is a permissions issue. Does this specific user have Browse Issues permission?

I didn't see an option to check for browse issues, but she can browse projects and all the issue-related options in the helper (create issue, edit issue, move issue, assign issue, etc.)

sorry yes...browse project. the only other thing I would point you to is the global Browse Users permissions (admin > system > global permissions). Just check to ensure that the user is in a group that had this permission.

The user logged out and logged back in with a new browser session and the problem seems to be resolved, thanks for all the suggestions!

Hi @GregPearson
I would suggest you run a Permissions Helper on that user and a specific problematic ticket. This might help identify if the user just lacks permissions to @mention users.
If that fails, I would try login off and on again or maybe trying with a different browser. Maybe it's a session issue.

That's a great suggestion Peter, thanks. I forgot about Permissions Helper. I tried that and anything that would be close to being able to "@" another user seems to be working as expected (there isn't an exact match for permission to do that, but I tried a bunch of options around comments and viewing users). I will ask the user to log out and back in to see what happens.
