None field still showing after making field required and setting default value

IT Group September 6, 2024

Hi, this issue is consistently a burden.

The "none" option will not go away after I have made the field configuration required AND set the default value to a different option than "None". I made sure the None value is not showing up in the configuration settings.

Jira is really inconsistent with the None option going away. I created 5 new custom fields, and only 1 out of the 5 of them actually removed the None field when I took all steps to remove it.

The type of list I am using is a cascading list for two options. Both the lists have a default value selected that is not "none".

I have preformed a re-index, I have tried recreating the custom field, mandatory field requirement, changed the default value and still no luck.
