I have downloaded latest jira and installed on AWS EC2.

I use chrome as default browser. While adding task, I found that I am not able to add task description. However, On Safari it was working as expected.

MacOS : 10.14 (18A391)

Chrome : 69.0.3497.100

Jira : Latest.

Hello,

Since this is occuring on Chrome only I would recommend checking out browser specific things first like updating the browser as I see that a newer version of chrome (version 70.0.3538.77) is currently available, then checking out other things like incognito mode and clearing caching to see if there are any conflicts in add-ons or page caching.  Also, the previously mentioned items and some additional things to check are covered in the "Indispensable tests" section of this KB:

If the above does not help Also check the browsers developer tools javascript console on the page load to see if there are any javascript errors present. And for a deeper dive into the page traffic check out this guide on Generating HAR files and analyzing web requests that will help diagnose any errors in more detail.

I did a few quick tests on this and could not replicate, But also just to make sure we are on the same page are you noting that the Issues Description field is not present on a screen, or are you noting the Description of a field or issue type is missing in the admin configurations?  And can you grab a screenshot of the behavior in each browser?

Regards,
Earl
