Not able to get bonfire extension for IE

The bonfire extension does not install in Internet Explorer. Chrome and Firefox work fine. The installation completes successfully but the extension never shows up. I have checked that the Enable third-party browser extension is checked.

The problem according to atlassian support is that the 64-but version of IE is not supported. The improvement you can vote on is here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BON-85.
