Hi,

User is not showing up as a Jira user in the User Mapping tab in TFS4Jira while setting profile. User is available in TFS users list. Can you please tell me what is the criteria to be available in Jira user list in TFS4Jira Synchronizer while mapping user.

Thanks

Hi Sushmita,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If we understand your question correctly, you have a problem with the missing Jira user.

In Jira Cloud, we are fetching Jira users using the user search endpoint (https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/api-group-user-search/#api-rest-api-3-user-search-get). Here we limit fetched users to those that can be assigned in the Jira project configured in your synchronization profile.

In Jira Server/DC, we use assignable users search endpoint (https://docs.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/api/REST/8.0.0/#api/2/user-findAssignableUsers). Similar to Jira Cloud, we search only for users that can be assigned to issues in the Jira project, and we limit the results to Atlassian account type only.

What we can advise here is to run a manual search and check if the users you are missing show up in the endpoint (and have the correct account type, in case you are using Jira Server/DC). If not, it means that the user cannot be assigned to the project configured in your synchronization profile. In that case, you will need to make changes inside your Jira instance.

If the users appear in the endpoint, please raise a support ticket with our support team to investigate the issue further.
