Notification mail collector

Is there a way to let the system collect all notification mails for as example 5m as we face the problem that our users get one mail per each update of a watched page.

Although this is an expected behavior it would raise the acceptance of this feature if the system would wait for typos or bulk updates on a single page for several minutes. At the moment even if a user is just marking a checkbox a notification mail is sent, this caused a mail flood for the guys...

JDigest - JIRA Notification Digester might suit your requirement. But, from my understanding this is compatible with JIRA 4.3.x only https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.javahollic.jira.jdigest
