With Platform Experiences Teams are more and more used across Jira. There is even this locked custom field called "Team" that - funny enough - just holds a single value.
What options do Teams offer in terms of notifications?
Sure, we can mention a Team via @<teamname> and this inserts all team members. But when adding a Team to the custom field, will they automatically get notified on events? I've found no way to adjust the notification scheme to include Teams. Only groups can be selected.
PS I'm not talking about the M$ product Teams.
Hi @Jared Schmitt,
The single value you see in the list of teams comes from the teams in Platform Experiences indeed. They are pulled in automatically, it is not that you can control the custom field through field configuration.
Having said that, afaik there is no direct way to send system notifications (as in: from Jira's notification scheme) directly to the members of a team apart from mentioning it (as you described in your question).
See also this related thread where a number of workarounds are described, but that is what they all are: workarounds as there is no direct way to send notifications to a team.
Hope this helps!
Thanks, so basically the answer is no. There are no options at all.
