Number of users in project roles

Is there a limited number of users you can have in a project role for Jira 4.4.5. In general team member for one of my projects there is 19 users and it won't let me add any more. Is this because I am up to the limit?

I do not know about limitation in project roles.

Probably tyou have conflict with other roles or permissions.

Try to use groups. This helps in most of the cases.

I have never heard of a limited number of users for a project role. We have roles that have far more than 19 users.

Do you get an error message ? Is there something in the logs ?
