Jeff Underwood September 11, 2012

Is it possible to edit office documents attached in Jira?

you can open the attachment, make changes(supposed), save the document. when you open the attachment again, the changes are not made.

Um, no, that's not quite right. You *download* a copy of the document, make changes and save it. You have not re-uploaded the changes.

Jira doesn't really do document management to that level - it just sees chunks of attached data and assumes that if you want to change them, you're going to explicitly give it a new copy.

I am sure there's a request for this to be implemented somewhere (similar to the way Confluence using Webdav does it), but I haven't got it bookmarked myself.
