On Hold status not shown on swimlane, despite matching the JQL filter

Ignacio Cobos Rey April 3, 2023

I have a swimlane in our Kanban board for "stopped tasks" that is based on the JQL filter

status in (Blocked, "On Hold")

However, it shows the blocked tickets, but not those on hold. Any idea on why can this be happening?

Hi @Ignacio Cobos Rey,

That's a difficult one without a view of your configuration. If the data set behind your board does contain issues in the on hold status, I can only think of 2 possible reasons why they don't appear in your swimlane:

  • Because the On Hold status is not mapped to a column on your board. That way they will be hidden from the board as a whole;
  • Because they match the criteria of another swimlane on your board and they are displayed there instead (issues display only once on your board, in the swimlane they match with first. The first swimlane in your settings - top to bottom - is checked first).

Hope this helps!

I have the same problem as the OP. The issue is that I have aticket in 'On Hold' status but that is not shown as an unmapped status in order for me to include it in a column. All other statuses exist but not On Hold!
