On JIRA Cloud, is it possible to list the results of a JQL query in a text/description field?

Josh Brozen April 30, 2018

This would essentially be like the JIRA Issue/Filter Macro within Confluence but within a JIRA text/description field.

I am open to Custom field or Cloud-based Add-On solutions.

For example, if I want to have a meta-ticket that displayed the results of a JQL query that references and displays the results of the fix version of a certain project.

I would use this for meta-project tracking - and more specifically, release tracking within a project in an automated way.

Thanks!

Hi Josh,

You can try to use the gadget "Filter Results".

This gadget brings the information of a filter/JQL query you save and show the information, with the fields you want it to show on it.

In the below documentation, there are more information, regarding to adding gadgets.

Thanks Gabriel - unfortunately, that Gadget looks like it used only on Dashboards, correct?

I was hoping to include JQL text results within a text description field within a JIRA Issue - similar to JIRA Issue/Filter Macro on Confluence.

It would sort of worked like linked issues to an Epic...except the JQL results would display as a bulleted list within the text box.

Thanks!
