OnUpdate webhook how to prevent infinite loop?

Hi,

I am using issue update event for a webhook to call a 3rd party service. On such events, the 3rd party service calls jira API to update an issue. 

Now because of the issue update, the 3rd party api gets called again and this repeats  indefinitely.

 

What is the recommended approach here?
