Optimize Index Job is different of Re- Indexing ?

Optimize Index Job is different of Re- Indexing ?
It is the same job ? 
After executed show the same result/effect ?

Totally different things, that's why they have different names.

Optimisation means "have a look to see if the data in the indices is well organised and update it if not".  It does not change the content, just the organisation.  "re-index" means "rebuild the data in the index from the database".
