Option for markdown text editor

Is there a way to switch all text editors from create issue, edit issue, comment, etc to a markdown base editing like on GitHub issue?

We are moving from GitHub issue to JIRA, and as a developer using it, the text editor is much more effective with markdown on GitHub than the WYSIWYG editor which is just very clumsy and slow. Especially with code and pictures in the issue, they waste too much space while editing and very sluggish to move things around.

Even creating this post with the WYSIWYG editor is very clumsy imo.
