Option to group by status category

It would be extremely helpful if 'status category' were added to the Group By feature. Presenting a backlog grouped this way facilitates discussion about the recently completed, in progress, and on-deck items.

Until that happens, has anyone found a workaround they'd care to share that doesn't involve the 'creative' use of plan hierarchy?

Hi Rick, I looked in Atlassian's Jira site and found this: JPOSERVER-2593 

I don't have a workaround, but not sure if you've voted for or are watching that issue.
