The Original estimate can be entered using time increment flags like m, h, d, or w for minute, hours, days, and weeks after the numeric value to specify the timeframe and when entered as the numeric value only will input the value as the default increment. Exe enter 1h to get 1 hour if you do not want to change the default increment globally.
Alternatively the time tracking default value can be configured in the global settings as covered in "Configuring time tracking" in the following location:
