Overwriting Comments

We encountered a situation today where one user was updating a Jira record while another user was saving their comments. The comments got overwritten. I was under the impression a users could modify a record at the same time but not sure how it applies to comments.

I would expect that editing and commenting on the same issue would not clash with each other. Mind you, the Updated date on the issue could be a problem. There's no locking I'm aware of in JIRA issues or comments.

Correct, there is no locking SO 'results are unpredictable' as IBM used to say back in the day I did mainframe work for situations like this.
