When I close a sub-task (almost always the only sub-taks), Jira will ask me if I want to close the parent. That is almost never what I want. I can cancel the action, but it would be nice if the bquestion is not popped at all. Besides, if somebody makes the wrong choice, chance are we forget about a task or user story...
At first I thought it was an automation, but there is no such thing active within the company. The admin claims it is default Jira behaviour. Is that true? Can I ask him to override it, just for my team?
Yes this is default. You may want to review https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Suppress-quot-Update-Parent-Issue-quot-pop-up/qaq-p/1233591 for further information.
