My team is currently in the midst of managing multiple projects. Each team member can have one or more projects. Instead of creating multiple projects, I figured we could manage multiple projects under one project in JIRA and use component feature to manage the number of projects. unfortunately,  I am not able to add component to every issue type (tried everything about configuring schemes, fields etc. I need to be able to add component field to every issue type so that we can manage the projects/components better. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you Sreenivasaraju. In terms of linking to projects, I am not able to link any of the scheme to any projects. It tells me that no project exists to link. Is this because I am in trial period of testing out JIRA and not a full license?

Also, on field configuration, I believe Component is not hidden because I do see it associated with certain issue types but I don't see it on every issue type.

Components field is added on the screen.

Please check below points :

  • Component/s are added to the project or not.
  • Whether Component/s field hidden on the field configuration schema
  • Component/s field is added on the screen or not
