Plugin for auto assignment in JIRA

Hi All,

I am just querying if there is currently a plugin on the market that will do the below:

When an issue is clicked/viewed it will automatically assign it to that person.

I know it is possible to assign upon transition from open to in progress but ideally I need something that will do it a an earlier stage than this.

Looks like this feature is not feasible. What should happen, if multiple people are viewing the same ticket. do you want to assign to multiple people.

This is actually functionality that currently exist in our instance, it was written as a custom built plugin.

However we are looking at upgrading and the plugin is no longer compatible and the company that wrote it are no longer around.

Sorry I should have been a bit clearer in my question , we only require it to be assigned to the first person that views it.
