Portfolio For Jira - How to create a virtual user?

I cannot find an answer online, so I post it here.

I see the "Create virtual user" button but it's grayed out. How can I activate it and create these virtual users?

"Create Virtual User" button becomes enabled once you start typing a name into the Search User field.

If you are using the new planning experience, then virtual users are not available, see Managing teams. Also take a look at Future releases and limitations to see what you can and cannot do with the new planning experience.
