We are a service cross-functional service organization, and our teams' work is spread across various other teams in the larger organization. As such, we have issues witihin parents not assigned to our team members or teams. And, needless to say, we don't always know the issue number/link of those parent links.
In Jira Server, we solve this problem using scriptrunner's issueFunction in portfolioParentsOf()
or issueFunction in portfolioParentsOf()
. These functions were incredibly valuable, enabling us to see how our work fits in the larger org.
However, the company recently migrated to Jira Cloud and we lost the portfolio function and that lovely picture we had. Support suggested using " However, this functionality is unavailable in Cloud, and now we don't have an easy way to solve this.
Due to the size of our organization, we don't always know the issue key. Thus using issuesinepics, ecpisOf, parentsOf does not help us.
Can you help?
@Jimena Preciado Lopez I'm going to assume that your org had Adaptavist Scriptrunner app installed in server, because the issueFunction option in JQL is not part of Jira's default functionality. Here's the doc I found: https://docs.adaptavist.com/sr4js/6.26.0/features/jql-functions/included-jql-functions/portfolio
You might need to migrate your apps to cloud to continue using these functions.
Yes, we used scriptrunner and we migrated the apps but it the cloud version does not provide the same functionality.
I found an issue related to this in 2018 (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Recursive-filter-to-find-all-issues-related-to-a-Program/qaq-p/949045) and hoped it would be solved by now but apparently it's not :(

I see... sorry I couldn't offer better help! In this case, I suppose it's best to contact the Adaptavist team directly so they can address your needs :)
