Possibility to markup single character inside word in JIRA

Is there any possibility to, for example underline the first character inside a whole word?

Instead Hello

I want for example:

Hello

Currently you can only markup whole word, but is this possible for characters only INSIDE a word?

I've never realized you can't do something like this. Good weird find. I have tried it a couple different times in my instance and it looks like you have to have a space in order to bold a letter. Here are a couple examples of what I tried. I hope there is someone that can provide more insight on this, but it looks to me like this is not possible. Maybe a feature request for Atlassian?
