Pre-populate Certain Jira Cloud Fields

When a new issue is created and an associated Epic is selected, I'm looking to pre-populate some custom fields (based off the same fields in the Epic). Is this a possibility? Does anyone know how to go about this? Thanks!

Hello @Blake Falanga

Thank you for reaching out.

Per your description, I understand you would like to copy some specific fields from their related Epics when you create them. Is that correct?

You can use an automation rule to properly do it. These would be the steps:

  1. Navigate to your Project > Project Settings > Automation
  2. Create the following automation rule:

P.S: In the action, I used the Summary field, but you can select any field(s) you need

Let us know if this is the feature you are looking for.
