Hi,
I want to be able to prepopulate a field in a Jira ticket which has a tab called support and a field called "customer issue description".
The source would be a linked ticket, that started with SC- which contains the same field "customer issue description".
So when an issue is linked from an SC-ticket, the field "customer issue description" is copied to the same field in the support tab.
Can anyone guide me ?
Hi Ben,
I believe the most straight-forward way currently would be to use the new "Project Automation" feature. To do that, go to the Project Settings and scroll down to "Project Automation".
Using Project Automation you can define rules that execute some actions whenever a certain trigger condition is met. In your case the trigger would be "Issue Linked" and the action would copy the description. There is a lot that is possible with this feature, so I suggest you go ahead and try :)
Also, here is the official feature page and here is the documentation.
Hope that helps,
Oliver
