Preserving sequence number during bulk issue creation/migration

Prateek Phadke July 30, 2018

In one of my projects I need to import issues from another  JIRA server instance. The issues in other project have different Issue ID format and numbering which do not match with the sequence in the new project. Is there a way to preserve the Issues IDs from old project during the migration?

If not the whole issue Id key (e.g. ITP-1001) I would like to preserve the sequence number with the new project key( e.g. ITPN-1001). To achieve this I have made sure that the number sequence is unused in the new project.

Could it be possibly done?

Hello,

It is not possible to save issue id and issue key during migration. It can be done only by backup and restore functionality, but it is not what you want.

Thanks Alexey for confirming.
