Private backlogs and boards

I have a customer who is using Enterprise Jira Cloud. They want to have an outside team come in and solve X, the request is to use our Enterprise Jira but we don't want them to be able to get into everything, just 3-5 EPICs. From those epics I'd like a board that only they can see (within Enterprise) . Also if possible. I'd like to setup another board for OFFSHORE, so when items are moved into DEV READY the offshore team can work on them.

Hi @Jim Lile

You need to use mainly 3 things to achieve this.

  • Create a project role called "External team"
  • Browse projects permissions: This is one of the permission in permission scheme used by one or multiple projects. Make sure this is set to a project role called "External team" and other roles like developers, qa, etc
    • Make sure people are added to one of these role when access needs to be given to them.
  • Also configure Security Scheme: This is to ensure people have access to specific issues. You can create a security level and assign it to "External team" project role.

Based on your existing configurations this may not be a simple move as you will have to review configurations of all the projects.
